This Weekend in Beads...getting things together

I finally sat down and created a bead soup for my partner, Charlie. I spent all week trying to think of something, then the lightbulb went off. Can't say much more... I am supposed to be all secretive and stuff (the packaging was easier for me somehow, than the actual soup of beads.)

I didn't make anything this weekend....been busy getting reorganized (I love organizing my beads just as much as creating with them. Yes. I am way wierd.)

I did purchase some Nicole's Bead Backing as recommended by my friends over at Beading Daily...it's like Lacy's Stiff Stuff but it comes in COLORS whoohoo! No more mess from trying to dye the Lacy's.

Oh and I stumbled upon a new bronze pendant from Green Girl Studios...I had to buy it instantly. It's an owl. I love owls! I nabbed the picture Cynthia had for the listing (hope that's ok?)

How cool is he! Can't wait till he is here. If you like Cynthia's work, check out her Etsy shop at http://www.etsy.com/shop/cynthiathornton . She seems to put the hard to find limited edition pieces in there.

Now, back to organizing and more coffee!

Have a great week, folks :)

This Weekend in Beads...getting caught up

I went shopping last Weekend with my Boyfriend's Mom, Margaret (shes a beader too.) We went to Red Door Beads in Stanwood. I found so much stuff.......

And of course, Margaret and I had to trade beads..(she gave me chain, locket, adventurine drops and pink opal drops. Oh and a way cool vintage wicker lunch basket, the new home of my embroidery stuff)

So...did I also mention Margaret works at a hardware store? No? Well, let's just say it's not a good idea for me to be turned loose in there...strange things happen (see below)

Now...something normalish...a super fast embroidery project (done in 2 days.) I could not sleep knowing I owned a rainbow moonstone cab and it was unbeaded.

I could stare at it for hours....kina hard since I am wearing it right now...lol. I am sad though, I used up most of my antique french cut steel seed beads on this guy. I need to find more (they are real steel and super cool!)

OMG I just checked Lori's Pretty Things blog!! I made it into the Bead Soup Blog Party YAY!!!EEEEEEE!

Um, yeah I am a little excited.
